The Challenge
Straffan Self Storage had been serving customers for more than 25 years, but its existing website didn’t reflect the experience or scale of the business.
The previous site was a basic Squarespace website with limited scope for SEO, content or future growth. It also needed to serve different types of customers, from homeowners needing temporary storage during a move or renovation to businesses looking for flexible space for stock, equipment or documents.
The new website needed to make the available storage options easier to understand, communicate the security and flexibility of the facility and create a much clearer route from discovering the business to becoming a customer.
It also needed to provide a flexible foundation that could evolve as the business and its online requirements grew.
Our Approach
We rebuilt the website around how people actually search for, compare and choose self-storage.
Rather than creating another small brochure website, we developed clearer customer journeys for home and business storage, with dedicated information helping visitors understand their options, unit sizes, security, access and how the service works.
Local search was considered from the outset. The website structure and content were developed to help Straffan Self Storage reach customers searching for storage across Kildare and surrounding areas.
As the business evolved, we continued developing the website to support more of the customer journey online.
This included adding WooCommerce functionality that allows customers to choose and book a storage unit directly through the website, moving the site beyond lead generation and making it a more functional part of the business itself.

The finished website transformed Straffan Self Storage’s online presence from a small Squarespace site into a much more capable digital platform supporting both its marketing and customer journey.
Customers can explore the different storage options, understand unit sizes and features, find answers to common questions and book a storage unit directly through the website.
The website has also been able to evolve alongside the business. The later addition of WooCommerce functionality moved more of the booking process online, making the site more useful for both customers and the Straffan Self Storage team.
Most importantly, the website was built around a clear commercial goal: making it easier for local customers to find Straffan Self Storage, choose the right storage solution and become a customer.
